1,The material of enamel pins
Generally speaking, we will use zinc alloy, iron, copper, stainless steel, and pure silver. Most designs use zinc alloy materials. Zinc alloy is less prone to rusting and oxidation, and is easier to preserve. You can refer to this blog for details:What kind of material is used to make lapel pins
2,Regarding the electroplating of lapel pins
Different colors have different effects on the appearance texture of enamel pins. Therefore, you need to choose the most suitable electroplating color based on your design. Gold is a very popular electroplating color because it can present a noble and magnificent appearance. It is usually suitable for designs such as honors, rewards or memorials.
Silver is a classic electroplating color that can present a simple appearance. Antique color has an elegant look and is suitable for commemorating historical events and traditional culture designs. There are also other colors such as cadmium, nickel, and rainbow electroplating that can be chosen.
3.What documents are required for customizing the lapel pins ?
You only need to provide one of the following forms of design drafts:
Vector files (AI/CDR/EPS format is preferred)
High-definition images (PNG/JPG, resolution ≥ 300dpi)
Scanned hand-drawn drafts (with clear color and size markings)
No matter what kind of file format it is, you need to convert the text into curves. The fonts installed on each person's computer may be different.
4,About enamel pins process
The traditional methods for making lapel buttons include: hard enamel, soft enamel, die casting, printing, and cutting out. Each method produces a different effect. Here are some new techniques.
5,Regarding the production process of collar needles
(1)Artwork proof :The client provides the artwork proof and the factory creates the effect drawing based on the draft, and confirms the details with the client.
(2)Molding: Import the confirmed design file into the CNC engraving machine program for mold engraving. The engraved molds undergo heat treatment to make them harder and more durable.
(3)Forming: After the mold is completed, it is installed in the stamping machine. The stamping machine presses the patterns on the mold onto the metal material, and then the products are stamped according to the shape of the patterns.
(4)Polishing: The stamped products will have metal burrs, which need to be polished to make the surface smooth.
(5)Electroplating: According to the client's requirements, electroplating is carried out. Generally, electroplating with imitation gold and nickel is more common.
: After electroplating, some products may need to be colored. Coloring usually includes baking paint and imitation enamel. The colored products need to be placed in the oven for baking.
(6)Packaging: Each product undergoes quality inspection. Qualified ones are packaged in bags, and those that are not qualified are returned for rework.
It should be noted that the production process of badges may vary due to different manufacturing techniques and materials.
6,About the price
There are numerous factors influencing prices. The prices of zinc alloy and iron are relatively affordable and suitable for mid-range and low-end products. After being produced from copper, the texture is very good, but the price is slightly higher than that of zinc alloy. Pure silver and pure gold materials are extremely expensive.
The size, thickness and manufacturing process of the product are also important factors influencing the price. Our calculation formula is: mold + unit price * quantity + transportation cost = total cost.
The default packaging for the product is OPP bags, one bag for each item. If you require a lamination box or a paper box for packaging, the cost will be additional and it will also affect the shipping cost.
